This Cancellation Policy applies to all bookings made directly with Mondello Sea House, located at Viale Principe di Scalea, 25 C, Palermo. For bookings made through third-party platforms (e.g., Airbnb, Booking.com), the cancellation policy of the respective platform may apply.

1. Guest Cancellations

The following cancellation terms apply based on the notice period before the scheduled check-in date:

1.1 Free Cancellation — 14 or more days before check-in

Cancellations made 14 or more days before the check-in date will receive a full refund of all amounts paid, including the deposit.
The refund will be processed within 14 business days using the original payment method.

1.2 Partial Refund — 7 to 13 days before check-in

Cancellations made between 7 and 13 days before the check-in date will receive a 50% refund of the total booking amount.
The remaining 50% will be retained as a cancellation fee to cover costs associated with the reserved dates.

1.3 No Refund — Less than 7 days before check-in

Cancellations made less than 7 days before the check-in date are non-refundable.
The full booking amount will be retained.
No-shows (failure to arrive without prior cancellation) are treated as a late cancellation, and no refund will be issued.

2. How to Cancel

Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to info@mondelloseahouse.it.
The cancellation date is determined by the date the email is received and acknowledged by us.
You will receive a cancellation confirmation within 48 hours of your request.

3. Modifications to a Booking

Requests to change the dates of your stay are subject to availability and must be made at least 7 days before the original check-in date.
Date changes are treated as a cancellation of the original booking and a new booking, but we will waive cancellation fees if the modified booking is of equal or greater value.
Shortening a stay after check-in does not entitle the Guest to a refund for the unused nights.
We reserve the right to adjust pricing for modified bookings based on the rates applicable to the new dates.

4. Force Majeure

In the event of extraordinary and unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of either party (forza maggiore), including but not limited to:

Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, severe storms)
Government-imposed travel restrictions or lockdowns
Pandemics or public health emergencies declared by competent authorities
Armed conflict or civil unrest affecting the destination

The following terms apply:

The Guest may cancel free of charge and receive a full refund, or choose to reschedule the stay to alternative dates within 12 months.
The Property owner may cancel if the Property becomes unavailable due to force majeure, in which case the Guest will receive a full refund of all amounts paid.
Neither party shall be liable for damages arising from force majeure cancellations.
Claims under this section must be supported by appropriate documentation (e.g., government advisories, official travel bans).

5. Cancellation by the Property

In the rare event that we must cancel your booking (e.g., due to unforeseen maintenance, property damage, or force majeure), you will receive a full refund of all amounts paid.
We will make every effort to offer alternative accommodation or reschedule your stay to suitable alternative dates.
We will notify you as soon as reasonably possible and no less than 7 days before check-in where circumstances permit.

6. Refund Processing

All refunds are processed in Euros using the original payment method.
Refunds will be issued within 14 business days of the cancellation confirmation.
Bank transfer refunds may take additional time depending on your financial institution.
Transaction fees charged by payment processors (e.g., Stripe) are non-refundable.
